I am excited to share our recent article titled "Mitochondria: It's All About Energy" in Frontiers in Physiology, a highly reputable journal. As the first author, Amaloha Casanova's contributions were invaluable to this cutting-edge research. Together with esteemed researchers Dr. Leo Pruimboom and Dr. Santiago Navarro-Ledesma, we discuss the vital role that mitochondria play in energy metabolism and human health.

Our article explores the unique features of mitochondria and how they generate ATP, the main source of energy for cellular processes. We delve into mitochondrial dynamics and the devastating effects of mitochondrial dysfunction on human health. Moreover, we provide solutions for interventions that are useful in medicine, such as lifestyle interventions, nutritional support, and targeted therapies.

As a practitioner, I implement these interventions in my daily practice with patients. Our own scientific findings enable us to design comprehensive health plans that are highly evidence-based. We create tailored treatment plans that promote better health outcomes for our patients.

I am grateful to Amaloha for her exceptional work as the first author and to Dr. Leo Pruimboom and Dr. Santiago Navarro-Ledesma for their guidance and support. Our article is an example of clinical psychoneuroimmunology, and the first in my PhD research, which takes place at the UGR in cooperation with these esteemed researchers.

Overall, our article presents an in-depth and accessible overview of a topic that impacts us all. I encourage everyone to read it to gain a better understanding of the critical role that mitochondria play in human health.
